Encanto is as enchanting as its title
Encanto may not beat Disney’s Frozen in gross earnings, Encanto does rival Frozen in storytelling and music writing. Lin-Manuel Miranda’s unique music-writing style empowers the story of Mirabel’s quest to find the source of the Madrigal family’s troubles. Vibrant music and colorful animation contribute to the watcher’s enjoyment.
Disney’s Encanto lives up to its enchanting title as a musical comedy. Encanto follows the story of Mirabel Madrigal and her family and the mystery surrounding their family’s power. The film was directed by Byron Howard and Jared Bush, the same people behind Zootopia, Bolt, and Moana. The talented Lin-Manuel Miranda also had a significant influence over the story of Encanto and its vibrant music.
The Madrigal’s are a magical family who lives hidden in the mountains of Colombia in an enchanted valley. Magic has blessed every child in the family with a unique gift, except Mirabel. However, she becomes the Madrigal’s last hope when she discovers that the magic is now in danger.
Encanto was at the top of the Box Office charts for animated films in 2021, grossing over $90 million in the U.S. and over $216 million globally.
