This year’s fall play is coming to Argo this week on Oct. 22 and will be showing until Oct. 24 daily at 7 pm in the PAC. This year, Argo’s Theater team is doing a production of The Crucible – a play depicting the ‘Red Scare’ and a dramatic retelling of the Salem Witch Trials.
“I’m constantly quoting Abigail, constantly thinking of Abigail; trying to portray her properly,” said Faith Garza, the actress of Abigail Williams. “I want people to see that – I want people to see the dedication we have to our characters.”
The director and staff help bring the students to the stage, but the cast and crew are the ones who make the story come to life. They have been putting in the work to memorize, plan, and perform the play without fail.
Even with the struggles of learning new – and difficult – scripts, the theater students bring their all to put on a production for their peers. The script uses appropriate language from the time period, which is no longer how people speak – making it trickier than the average script for the cast behind it.
The Argo Theater students are proud and ready for this year’s production.
“We poured our heart and soul into this play,” said Brooklyn Davis, the actress of Tituba. “I just want people to see what we stay after school for – for hours and hours on end – working to get to this point.”
