Since the 2000’s, the Golden Fleece has been a tradition to show the creativity of the senior members of the Argo theater program. Instead of acting, now they are in the director and writer position. Six plays are all student run.
“I did not start Golden Fleece. It was an awesome idea that was created long before me, back in the early 2000’s,” David Hernandez, the head of the Argo Theater program, said.
Hernandez moved it to the first show in theater.
“I feel like it helps you get closer. The students that are older can mentor you,” said Abbey Routien, a junior at Argo.
“It’s their first time ever directing. So, it’s really exciting that they get to do this on a smaller scale,” Hernandez said.
The event will run for multiple days at the start of October.
“The Golden Fleece will debut on October 3, 4 and 5 at 6 pm here at the Portillo’s Performing Arts Center. And all you need is a good cash donation,” Hernandez said.
Cash donations are optional.
