02/14/2025 was the Argo Community High School’s senior night basketball game. Home: Argo Visitor: Richards. Our seniors were Kenneth Martins (22), Kassam Salah (24), Hytham Ali (11), Jayvon King (21), Yusuf Salah (10) and Sam De la Cruz (34).
Our seniors were introduced to the crowd with music and their faces displayed on our mini jumbotron as the crowd cheered them on. The game started with Kenneth Martinez taking the jump ball. hGe got it and scored the first 2 points of the game.
The first half had a dominant start—Argo was in the lead by almost 20 points—but some unfortunate things happened in the second half. The second half was tough when one of our Argonauts was pulled out of the game due to a foul, this left Argo at a disadvantage. Despite this, Argo still fought just as hard and played just as intensely and won the match.
The game ended with a score of 61 to 38 in Argo’s victory. An incredible achievement was also reached on this senior night as one of our argonaut seniors Kassam Salah scored his 1000th point game. The game basketball is now sitting behind glass honoring his commitment and achievement in his Argo basketball career.
It might be the last game for these seniors together on the same court—but it won’t be their last game together. As they push through life and embark on their own journeys, they will continue to strive for greatness. So when that final buzzer of life rings—they will be champions.
