On the morning of November 4th, students at Argo Community High School gathered inside the school to pay tribute to Jaydin Bahena.
Bahena, a 16-year-old junior, passed away over the weekend. Principal Brandon Cotter said that Bahena was “an unnecessary victim of gun violence” in an email sent out Sunday evening.
To show respect, an assembly of students displayed immense support with a memorial. It was adorned with flowers, stuffed animals, letters and more.
“Jaydin was known for his kind heart, vibrant personality, and the positive impact he had on everyone around him,” Cotter said. “Teachers and classmates alike have spoken with great admiration for him, and there has been an overwhelming outpouring of support and condolences from our community through emails and social media. This speaks to just how much Jaydin meant to so many of us.”
Argo offers resources for support and has open doors for those in need. If you or someone you know is struggling, please reach out to any support system.
Furthermore, to support Jaydin and his family, please consider donating to the GoFundMe at gofundme.com/f/help-honor-jaydins-memory. On November 5th, a balloon releasing in honor of Bahena will be held in his memory.
